Empire Mortuary Services was started May 15, 2000 by George and Martha Leinen. Empire Mortuary Services was originally focused, almost exclusively, on providing low cost cremations.

In January 2015, Empire Mortuary Services was acquired by the families of Kevin Stiles and Dan Roberts under their company Janus Advisors. Mr. Stiles and Mr. Roberts realized that there was a need in the area for a funeral home that provided all aspects of the funeral industry.

Under the ownership of Janus Advisors, Empire Mortuary Services will continue to expand the services and products it offers while maintaining a particular focus on the low cost cremation customer.
